Elaine B. Pomeroy

Elaine Bryant Pomeroy, 78 years of age, passed on Friday, August 24, 2018 at her home in Springfield Vermont after nearly a year long struggle with ALS, Progressive Bulbar Palsy.

Elaine was born December 18, 1939 in South Paris Maine to the late Howard and Dorothy Bryant. She leaves her one brother Warren Bryant, and sister-in-law Beth. Elaine attended college at Boston University where she received a degree in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation Elaine served our country in the Air Force as an Officer. It was during this service that Elaine met her future husband Gary. Elaine married Gary Pomeroy in 1963 and they remained married for 45 years until his passing.

Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1976 Elaine and Gary moved to Springfield Vermont where they built their retirement home which they named P’s Full Homestead. Built in the middle of an old farm field Elaine spent many years creating multiple flower beds and turning the house into a show piece.

In 2013, Elaine met the second love of her life Reginald Moxley and they married in 2015. After their marriage, Elaine and Reggie split time between their homes in Vermont, Michigan, and Florida.

Elaine loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She had many gardens that were featured on various garden tours. She was very involved with the Springfield Garden Club; serving two terms as president. She was one of the founders of their Annual Festival of Trees and took pride in beautification projects for the town. Recently she received their prestigious Golden Trowel Award. In her later years Elaine would travel to Florida in the winter. It did not take long before she formed a beautification committee for her condominium complex. The complex honored her for her great leadership by naming a garden area after her. The exceptional projects she spearheaded continue to brighten the grounds.

Elaine was also blessed with many other talents and gifts. She loved to dance and taught all kinds of dancing. There was not a song that she could stand still to. She painted beautiful landscapes and produced amazing oil and watercolors that were displayed in several exhibits throughout the years. She was known for always staying positive and content in the midst of adversity and would consistently share the love of Jesus.

Elaine leaves her son Michael Pomeroy and wife MaryDan from Thetford VT as well as her son Mark Pomeroy and wife Laura from Springfield, VT. She leaves her grandchildren; Maggie, Michaela, Luke, and Kyle Pomeroy, Nicholas Bograd, as well as Cameron, Brandon, and Kay Gregory.
