Janet Barry

Janet Barry, 93, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in 1924 in Hingham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Howard and Lucille Tinkham.

She graduated in 1941 from Hingham High School.

Mrs. Barry worked as a secretary and later, was a full-time homemaker to her four children.

She was a member of the Springfield Congregational Church and served as a hospital volunteer for many years.

She enjoyed the Red Sox, knitting and the ocean.

Survivors include a brother, Howard Tinkham, of Hingham, Massachusetts; four children Daniel Barry III, of Milford, New York, Ellen Ankuda, of Springfield, Bruce Barry, of Baldwinsville, New York, Mark Barry, of New York City; and five granddaughters.

Mrs. Barry was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Barry Jr., in 2001.

The graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Springfield.

Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.
