Holly Nichols Raymond



Holly Nichols Raymond, 71, passed away on January 14, 2018. She was born December 6, 1946 in Hanover, NH.

She grew up in Springfield, VT until age 10 then moved to Lexington, Mass. where she graduated from Lexington high school in 1964. She attended Skidmore College and Northeastern University and earned her bachelors degree with high honors.

Holly was an accomplished piano player, drummer and a beautiful singer. She was a member of the choir at the First Parish Church in Lexington, Mass, Rockport, Mass and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth, Mass., and the choraliers of Falmouth, Mass.

She was an avid outdoors woman. She liked to hike and ski in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She especially enjoyed going to Lake Winnipesaukee to the AMC camp at Three Mile Island to swim and canoe annually.

She was trained in cytology at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She worked at Emerson Hospital and Mount Auburn Hospital.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Raymond, (Holly was the love of his life), her son, John Ballou and his wife Leanne, 2 grandchildren: Kristen and Kara, Step children: Eric, Vaun, Nixie and Monica Raymond, 2 grandchildren: Morgan and Jesse Raymond Terry, sisters: Ann Durand and Alice McLane, parents: John and Laura Nichols, many nieces and nephews, and a previous marriage of 25 years to Richard Ballou. She was pre-deceased by her sister Marcia Margiotta.

A Celebration of Holly's life will be in July. Dates, time and place will be announced at a later date.
