Alexander S. Doleva



Alexander S. Doleva, 93, of Foxboruogh, Mass., died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Brightview Senior Living Center in Canton.

He was born June 25, 1924, in West Conshocken, Pennsylvania, the son of Alexander J. and Laura (Borowska) Doleva.

He graduated from high school in West Conshocken and from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Mr. Doleva served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He married Helen A. Cichonowicz in Springfield, Dec. 1, 1956.

He was employed as a controls engineer with Foxboro Co. and later, with Stone Webster Engineering.

Mr. Doleva enjoyed making model airplanes, playing accordion and foreign language.

Survivors include by two daughters Mary DeRoche, Alexandra Doleva; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife June 30, 2010, and eight siblings Alice, Mary, Stephanie, Sophie, Helen, Josie, Stephan and Paul.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Springfield.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Springfield.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel prior to the Mass.
