Ronald B. Flay, 70, passed away on Wednesday evening June 28, 2017 at his home in Springfield, Vermont. He was born January 21, 1947 in Hartford, Connecticut the son of Reginald F. and Betsy E. (Lowe) Flay. He attended and graduated High School in Connecticut and served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968.
On April 26, 1969 He married Kathleen (Hatala) in Farmington, Connecticut.
Mr. Flay served as a Fire Fighter with the West Hartford, Connecticut Fire Department from 1968 to 1993.
He moved from Connecticut to Springfield, Vermont in 2003 after many years of camping in the area. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida beginning in 1994.
He enjoyed camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen, 1 son Randolph Flay and his wife Rasa and their children Emilija and Andrew. 1 daughter Heather Servidone and her husband Anthony and their children Dante, Nicholas and Mia.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 10, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Springfield, Vermont.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mary’s Church 10 Pleasant Street Springfield, Vermont 05156.
