Gary F. Lynch



Gary F. Lynch, 69, of Springfield, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Springfield, the son of William and Evelyn (Tarajkowski) Lynch. He attended Springfield schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Mr. Lynch married Patricia J. Crawford Jan. 14, 1971, in Springfield.

He was known as a jack-of-all-trades, working as a machinist at Jones & Lamson Machine Tool Co. in Springfield, at Crawford Fence Co. and many other jobs and trades over the years.

He enjoyed riding his Harley and playing guitar.

Survivors include his wife and son Barry Lynch, both of Chester; daughter Alanna Sorenson, of Riverside, California; a brother, Scott Lynch, and sister, Terri Lynch, both of Springfield; three grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Lynch was predeceased by two siblings, Butch Lynch and Jennie Knight, and a nephew.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. The celebration of life and reception, with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Robert L. Johnson VFW Post 771 in Springfield. Burial will be at a later date in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
