Clement P. Day



Clement P. Day, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Parker) Day.

He graduated in 1955 from Springfield High School.

Mr. Day served in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Patricia Fitzgerald Dec. 10, 1960, in Springfield.

As a young man, he worked on the family farm in Springfield. After military service, he was employed at Wiggins Concrete, as a machinist with the Fellows Gear Shaper and as a pattern maker with Lucas Pattern Co. in Springfield for many years, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Day enjoyed skiing and was on the Mount Ascutney Ski Area Patrol. He was a member of the Springfield Plaza Bowl bowling league and he also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his wife and two children, Kevin Day and Kimberly Greenwood, all of Springfield; and two grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, where friends may call from 10 a.m. prior to the service officiated by Ernest “Puggy” Lamphere. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund, 105 Chester Road, Springfield, VT 05156; or to Springfield Animal Hospital for the Clement Day Emergency Fund (to help assist those who cannot afford medical care for their animals), 346 River St., Springfield, VT 05156.
