Michael C. Blair, 58, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Mountain View Center in Rutland, surrounded by family.
He was born March 2, 1958, in Ticonderoga, New York, the son of Willard C. and Marjorie (Veysey) Blair. He graduated from Green Mountain Union High School, class of 1976, attended Norwich Academy and graduated from Castleton State College.
On May 14, 1988, He married the former Susan Blais in Danby.
Mr. Blair was operations manager with Vermont Quarries in Danby. He worked there for about 40 years.
He was an avid golfer who enjoyed hunting, traveling, motorcycle riding, snowmobile riding, camping and spending time at the ocean. He was a Red Sox fan and a New York Giants Fan. He coached sports teams at Mill River schools and served as a Danby selectman.
He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge F&AM, Cairo Chapter 90 of the Shriners, and the Mizpah Chapter 40 Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Blair of Danby; two sons Bryce W. Blair of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mitchell Blair of Danby; two granddaughters; two brothers Troy A. Blair of Danby and Todd D. Blair of Ashville, North Carolina; one sister, Melinda G. Munroe of Chester; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
