John L. Allen, 81

John L. Allen, 81, of Brockton, Mass. passed away on April 20, at home. He was formerly from Springfield, Vt., the eldest child of Lyndon and Irene (Roys) Allen, and a graduate of Springfield High School and Northeastern University.

A Randolph, Mass. teacher of 30 years, and Korean War veteran, he enjoyed history, movies, theatre, family, friends, and a really good meal.

He is survived by his sister, Maryann (Allen) OMalley; his children, Jennifer Drosos, Geoffrey Allen and Jason Allen-Forrest; his grandchildren, Ashley Walter, Charles Dorsey Jr. and Nicholas Dorsey; and his great-grandchildren, Brendon Hemingway, Aundrea Dorsey and Aiden Dorsey.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in the All Saints Episcopal Church, 44 Park Avenue, Whitman.
