Roger S. Schaefer, 58

Roger S. Schaefer, 58, died Monday, April 18, 2016. He was born February 4, 1958, in Pennsylvania and moved to Springfield with his family in 1964. He grew up in Springfield, attending the school system; after school he worked for the town of Springfield as a truck driver and in the Parks and Recreation Department.
He is survived by two brothers, Gary Schaefer of Kentucky and Mark Schaefer of Springfield. He was predeceased by his parents Ned and June Schaefer and a sister, Dorothy Callison, who lived in Idaho. He is also survived by his stepson, Jeremy Desmarais and his son, Shawn.
Mr. Schaefer was a longtime member of the local Christadelphian Ecclesia.
Davis Memorial Chapel is handling the funeral services. There will be a graveside service later this spring, at a date to be announced.
