Marcel P. Rouillard, 87


Marcel P. Rouillard, 87, of Claremont, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, in the company of his loving family. He was born March 20, 1928, in Mansonville, Quebec, the son of Alphonse and Adelia (Lessard) Rouillard. He attended school in Mansonville. As a young man he worked on his family’s dairy farm and as a logger and trucker. After immigrating to the United States in 1952, Marcel was employed at Keil Lock in Charlestown and at Lovejoy Tool in Springfield as a machinist until his retirement in 1991. On Oct. 11, 1952, he married Theresa Lavoie of Newport. Marcel was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Claremont. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and family time. br />
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Theresa; son, Bernard and his wife, Eleanor, of Windham, New Hampshire; daughter, Pauline of Loyalton, California and son, Robert and his wife, Cindy of Lempster; granddaughter, Mirielle Rouillard and her husband, Craig Potter, of Manchester, New Hampshire; grandson, Hunter Rouillard of Windham, New Hampshire; great-granddaughter, Elle Adelia; brother, Paul of Mansonville, Quebec; sisters, Madeline Lariviere of Richford, Vermont, Annette Dieziel of Newport and Reine Cote of St. Hubert, Quebec; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Rene, Raymond, Robert, Gerald and Germain; two sisters, Rose Lariviere and Beth Lariviere.

Visiting hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, prior to mass. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Claremont with Father Shawn Therrien officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Claremont Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 957, Claremont, NH 03743.
