Ann L. Brown, 65


Ann L. Brown 65, died Feb. 3, 2016, at her home in Springfield. She was born Dec. 27, 1950, in Holland, Vt., the daughter of Austin and Marjorie (Durgin) Annis. She lived in North Wolcott with her husband of more than 35 years, Arnold "Beanie" Brown, for most of her adult life while raising her family. Mrs. Brown worked as a caregiver in the mental health field for many years. She worked as a bartender, as a driver for Springfield Auto Mart and Davey Tree Service. Ann moved to Springfield in 2009, where she lived with her high school sweetheart, Wayne Gomez. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing bingo with friends, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Annis of Derby; two sons Claude Brown of Elmore and Robert Brown of North Wolcott; one brother, Timothy Annis; three grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her companion, Wayne Gomez; cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Austin Annis; one grandchild; and husbands Dave Willey and Sherm Chaffee.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Coventry Community Center on Main Street in Coventry. Flowers or memorial donations can be brought to the Community Center the day of the gathering. Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
