Jodi Lynn Adams, 46


Jodi Lynn Adams died Friday, January 29, 2016, at her home in Springfield. She was born Aug. 22, 1969, in Bellows Falls, the daughter of Robert Adams and Doris Griswold. She grew up in Londonderry and went on to graduate from Green Mountain Union High School in Chester. After graduating, Jodi held several different positions with the Vermont Motor Vehicle department, including part of a road crew plowing snow, permitting for overweight trucks and as an inspector of car dealerships.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and helping out her neighbors, was known as a very good cook, enjoyed traveling with her sister, Ruthie, on her business trips to places such as Hawaii, St. Kitts, Jamaica and Bermuda. During the last number of years, she had struggled with substance abuse, depression and other health issues. She was predeceased by her father and stepmother Robert and Debbie Adams.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather Doris and Kenneth “Skip” Forbes of Andover; three sisters Donna Merrow of Weston, Ruthie Adams of Barre and Annie Finegan of South Barre; a brother, Gary Adams of Londonderry; four stepsisters Jayne Carleton of North Carolina, Kimberly Fox of Ohio, Robin Thomaston of Nebraska and Cindy Smith of New Hampshire; four stepbrothers Keven and Kenny Forbes, both of Colorado, David Hamel and Van Underwood, both of New Hampshire; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Andover Community Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. Burial is planned for spring in Heald Cemetery. Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield assisted the family with arrangements.
