Francis Robert Schulenberger, 77


On Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, Francis Robert Schulenberger passed away at Springfield Hospital. He was born May 9, 1938, to Frank and Gladys (Swain) Schulenberger. He attended Walpole School and enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 16. He worked at Putney Paper and Hubbards and he retired from Flock Fibers in North Walpole.

He is survived by his life partner of 34 years, Barbara Pettersen; his daughters, Jacqueline Croteau and her husband, Wayne, of Walpole, and Lori Hicks of Charlestown. He also helped raise Barb's two kids, Dan Pettersen and his wife Christine of Burlington, Vermont, and Paula Potorski of Saxtons River; his grandchildren, Josh and Katie, Mike, Ryan and Laura, Autumn, Brady and Zackary and a very special granddaughter, Lilli; also 10 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; also his brother, Bob of Warwick, Rhode Island; his two sisters, Sharon of Renton, Virginia and Jeanie of West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Walpole Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
