Linda Marie (Wharton) Dawson of South Burlington, Vermont died on Dec. 19, 2018 following a brief illness.
She was born on June 18, 1951 in Plainfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Clyde and Vivian (Dalley) Wharton. She was a graduate of Avon High School, class of 1969. On Sept. 16, 1972, she was married to Lionel R. Dawson. Linda loved to sing and was a member of several bands in high school and her early 20s. She also enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and cross-country skiing and made beautiful drawings. Linda will be remembered as a successful business owner in Springfield, Vermont for many years with her husband Lionel and as a friendly face at the Vermont National Bank, first as a teller and later as a loan officer.
Linda is survived by her daughter Kate (Dawson) Webster and her husband James, grandchildren Natalie and Patrick Webster, sisters-in-law Liza Dawson and Heidi Levin Dawson, brother-in-law John Dawson and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Lionel in 2001, mother and father Vivian V (Dalley) Wharton in 2003 and Clyde E Wharton Sr. in 2018, siblings Ruth Ann (Wharton) Phillips in 2008, and Clyde E. Wharton Jr. (Bill) in 2016, brother-in-law Richard D. Dawson in 2001, mother-in-law Anne C. (Incorvati) Dawson in 2017, and father-in-law John D. Dawson Sr. in 198.
At Linda’s request, there will be no memorial service. Her daughter Kate and extended family welcome your fond memories.
