Robert Aubin, 78, formerly of Springfield, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the son of Phillip and Louise (Pratt) Aubin.
He graduated from high school in Rhode Island.
Mr. Aubin served in the U.S. Navy.
In Rhode Island, he worked for the highway department in Pascoag for several years and also in the textile industry. In Vermont, he was employed for several years with Fellows Gear Shaper as a machinist.
He was a past governor of the Springfield Moose Lodge and member of the Moose Lodge in Largo, Florida.
Mr. Aubin enjoyed playing darts.
Survivors include three siblings Lynda Howard, Donald and Ronald Aubin, all of Claremont, New Hampshire, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jean; his first wife, Rita (Baker) Aubin, March 29, 1980; and his second wife, Barbara (Fortunato) Aubin, Aug. 31, 2017.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, where a calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service officiated by the Rev. Peter Williams.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Springfield, and then a reception will take place at the Time Out Americana Grill in Claremont.
