Richard L. “Dick” Jarvis, 83, died June 10, 2018, at Vermont Veterans’ Home in Bennington.
He was born April 12, 1935, the son of Nelson L. and Winifred (Wilson) Jarvis, of Springfield.
He was brought up in Englewood, New Jersey, and Springfield.
Mr. Jarvis was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked as a postal carrier in Santa Monica, California, for 30 years before retiring in 1990.
Survivors include his brother- in- law, Herbert Randle, of Weston, Massachusetts, and two nieces.
He was predeceased by his sister, Edith Randle, in 2011.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday, July 12, in Oakland Cemetery, 269 River St., Springfield, with the Rev. Gerry Piper officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vermont Veterans’ Home, 325 North St., Bennington, VT 05201.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
