Nancy Horton

Nancy Horton, 74, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Springfield Hospital.

She was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Springfield, the daughter of Earl A. Sr. and Irene (Hutchinson) Lovell.

She graduated from Springfield High School.

On March 6, 1965, she married Wilbur H. Horton Sr. He died Nov. 27, 1996.

Mrs. Horton was employed as a cook with the Jones & Lamson Machine Tool Co. in Springfield for several years.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield where she served as deaconess, was in the church choir and women’s group.

She enjoyed crafts, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include three children Wilbur Horton Jr., Sherry Horton, Debbie Burr, all of Springfield; a granddaughter; six siblings Earl Jr., David, Norman, Caroline, Cathy and Mary Jane; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Horton was also predeceased by a brother, Ernest.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, with the Rev. Malcolm Fowler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Plain Cemetery in Perkinsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 156 Main St., Springfield, VT 05156. Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
