Simone H. Murray, 68


Simone H. Murray, 68, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 23, 2016, at her home in Springfield surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 15, 1947, in Lac-Megantic, Canada, the daughter of George and Raymonde (Nadeau) Pardis. She graduated from Black River High School in Ludlow, Vermont, Thompson School of Nursing in Brattleboro, and continued with college courses to achieve her RN. On Dec. 26, 1966, she married Lee G. Murray in Ludlow.

She was employed as a registered nurse with Springfield Hospital for 20 years, and with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for 20 years, retiring in 2005. She was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Springfield, and a member of Court St. Anne Catholic Daughters. She was also an active member of the Springfield Senior Center and a member of the Springfield Retired Nurses, and the Rolling Wheels Camping Club. Simone enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, camping with the Rolling Wheels Camping Club, and sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lee; one son, Darin Murray and his wife, Kate, of Marlborough, New Hampshire; two daughters, Karen Murray and Nichole Knight, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Pardis, Peter Pardis and Michael Pardis; four sisters, Claudette Lummer, Genny Swenson, Suzanne Jamison and Pierrette Mahar; also by several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Springfield. Rev. James Zuccaro will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Springfield. Contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Mary’s and the Catholic Daughters, 10 Pleasant St., Springfield, VT 05156.
